WHO-5 Well-Being Index

The WHO-5 is a five-item measure of current subjective well-being developed by the World Health Organization. Answer five short statements and see how you scored on a 0–100 well-being index.

How the WHO-5 is scored

Each of the five statements is rated 0 (At no time) to 5 (All of the time). The raw score of 0 – 25 is multiplied by 4 to produce a percentage well-being index from 0 to 100.

A percentage score below 50 warrants attention; a score of 28 or below is the standard cutoff for depression screening. A change of 10 points or more is considered clinically meaningful (Topp et al., 2015).

Please indicate for each of the five statements which is closest to how you have been feeling over the last two weeks.
